great cannoli at Mr. Dino's Pizza, Montclair

I was having pizza (fine but not superb) at the neighborhood pizza joint, Mr. Dino's in Watchung Plaza (Montclair, NJ) and decided to give the cannoli a shot. Plucking a shell from the display case, the man went downstairs to the basement to fill my cannoli. I was *very* pleasantly surprised at what came back. The shell is good, with cinnamon powder baked in--but the cream filling, oh my. Not too light, but not too heavy, thick or dry--a perfect, moist texture and consistency. The most prevalent Tastes of very fresh cream, and while not overly sweet, is sweeter than many Italian-style creme fillings, and incorporates just the right sprinkling of chocolate chips. No one aspect is outstanding, other than the creaminess factor, but the harmony and balanced traits made for something yummy.

Now, it's not worth a special trip, but if you're grabbing lunch and want an excellently executed cannoli, try this one. $2.50
