Great BBQ, off I-75, below Macon, GA. (Cre-Mee & Pig Jig)

There's some real good BBQ off the I-75 Unadilla exit. Yeah, it's spelled right. Not a fancy place however, the pork BBQ is very tasty. Go thru the little town and on the other side you'll come to a small place on the left, on hwy. 41, called Cre-Mee, or something like that. It's got picnic tables on the porch and it's set back from the road in a sandy lot. Other dishes to try include: Brunswick stew (tomato based w/ BBQ and vegetables), cole slaw (good w/ the BBQ), fried chicken & french fries(best on Mon. or Thurs.), various vegetables cooked Southern style & sweet tea. The owners, Lindy & Lisa, and their staff are very nice. With a little advance notice, Lindy does catering nearby or can prepare large amounts for pickup.

Pig Jig (Annual summer competition)
Every summer, in one of the small towns below Macon, there is a BBQ competition called Pig Jig. If you are lucky enough to see signs for it and like 'Cue, be sure to check it out. Excellent BBQ is cooked in remarkable portable pits using several different sauces like vinegar-based, tomato-based, and sweet-based (my favorite). Guaranteed to be some of the best GA BBQ you'll ever taste.
