Does anyone else enjoy the Dive Bar at 96th and Amsterdam Ave. as much as I do? The food's damn good bar food, with a few surprising twists thrown in. Juicy burgers never fail to satisfy, but yesterday I had a natural beef and lamb burger which surpassed all previous high standards. Fabulous juicy meat, with an incredible flavour, delicious fresh Orwashers bread & savoury remoulade. Excellent.
Soups are homemade and great value, especially when paired with the freshest, crispest side salad you're likely to find in a bar. And speaking of salad, there's a good selection of vegetarian food, including all the daily specials on "Meatless Monday"
The wine list is excellent value, with very moderate mark ups. Half bottles start at $9.
Beers on tap( two dozen or so) are a selection from around the globe; an assortment ranging from humble domestics to challenging European suds. The bottle beer list has some really exotic choices, but my vote goes to the Scottish beer, Innes & Gunn.
Service is usually good, although it can be a little harried early weekday lunchtimes when the bar is briefly packed with construction workers.
