Grandpa and stepmama's idea of an evening out is to share a patty melt at Jan's coffee shop. His birthday is coming up and I'd like to take him someplace a bit special. Their special occaison place is Billingsly's. I want to go a bit more upscale. I was thinking Porterhouse Bistro but this board made it sound icky. I love Musso's but I think the prices might freak out this depression survivor--although I will be picking up the check. Can you folks think of something a little fancy, not ethnic (unless it's Americanized Eye-Talian) with prices that won't send the nearly 90 dude into thrombosis? Westside good. Downtown and/or Hollywood do-able. I know this is a tall request. Thanks in advance.
