Our family has been to Boston before and really fell for the people, the city, the history and the food. We are coming back. I am planning a Spring vacation for my granddaughter and I to enjoy the first week of April, 2006 . We will be spending at least two days on the Freedom Trail (again), two days in the Lexington and Concord area, one day in Salem and one day at Harvard.
I would be grateful for any suggestions for places to eat that would be fun for a ten year-old girl for breakfast, lunch and dinner near those areas. For example, I have recently noticed that she likes sitting at the counter of a old diner rather than a booth or table at a new diner. So, are there any old diners left around that have a good burger or salad? She also really likes those old time ice cream parlors or frozen custard stands (no custard stands in Calif.) that we could drive to at the end of the day. Also, any real historical taverns ( like Mitchie's Tavern at Monticello, VA) that still offer a good meal and are child friendly. Or any other ideas. Thanks in advance for your help and we look forward to visiting your true American town in April.
