I have to tell you that I was very surprised at my experience with Grand Sichuan (Lex. and 34th) chicken chow fun and chicken fried rice. None of it was very good.
It was the fourth Chinese restaurant we've tried in our extended neighborhood, and the worst of the four.
Our favorite for the Murray Hill/Gramercy area is still Tina's. The second is Kelley and Ping. The third I can't remember the name of and last was Grand Sichuan.
To Grand Sichuan's credit...the chicken fried rice looked good and tasty ok. The best of what we ordered. But the rest of the dishes were really bad. Tasteless, greasy and not at all appetizing (looked real bad). I will not give it a second chance, even for the tea duck. If it can't do the basics right...
