Grand Sichuan

OK, OK...

I am sure that Grand Sichuan has been discussed on this board a few time but I had to do my review. After my disaster with Blue Ribbon, who know what type of bashing I will get this time. I am sure someone is gonna jump down my throat about my disgust for the stir fried cukes in the spicy diced chicken dish.

Well I didn't order fish here but I did get a few good meals. At least better than what I ate a Blue Ribbon. I really enjoyed Grand Sichuan and it is just the type of Chinese food I always enjoy. Its a far cry from the typical Kung Paos and stir fried Lo Meins that seem to be everwhere.

I am still experimenting with the food there but have tried 2 entrees and 2 main dishes. My favorite so far was the double cooked pork and the pan friend pork dumplings. One think I really like is that the food here is actually spicy. In fact for my tender mouth it is a bit much, even when I asked for a medium spice.

I really like the flavor of the spicy diced chicken but thought the cuke in it was a miss. This may be how it is eaten in China but who knows. I usually regard cukes as a nice vegatable for a cool Summer salad. I never had one hot before. How about some green squash instead?
