My brother is graduating with his doctor of pharmacy degree in three weeks (a long distance learning thing and he doesn't live in Chicago). I made a reservation at Charlie Trotter's on the recommendation of a friend who used to live in Chicago (I'm from Seattle and my family is on the east coast). Reading the messages, this perhaps doesn't look like the best place. This is a once in a lifetime celebration. My brother loves all types of food (but doesn't want a seafood place per se), and I think my mother may like a place where she can choose something rather than having only a fixed menu. The price isn't really an object, but would like a wonderful dining experience, great food, great service, great ambience, etc. We only get to see each other once or twice a year. Any suggestions or should we just stick with Charlie Trotters?
