Grand Cafe on Sunday Evening?

WLA | Feb 2, 200510:04 AM     8

My wife and I are coming up from LA to the City by the Bay for the Gift Show this weekend and I just made a reservation for the Grand Cafe on Sunday. My wife likes French food and pretty interior spaces, (pretty = decorated beautifully if a bit over the top). Will this fit the bill? I did a bit of research on the SF Board and Cortez looked very interesting to me, but maybe too avant-garde for her...especially with the small plates concept and her always worrying about me eating all the food before she even gets a bite of something (g).

Any and all opinions gratefully sought and welcomed.
