I am looking for Japanese restaurants in the Bay Area (specifically South Bay, though elsewhere is good too) that makes items with whole grains -- in particular:
-Whole Wheat Ramen
-Whole Wheat (or other grain) Okonomiyaki
-100% Soba Buckwheat (because usually it's like 70% white flour)
-Tempura/Croquettes/Katsu using batter made with whole wheat, or non-white flour
The only place I know of that serves whole wheat ramen is Halu, in San Jose. But I haven't been there -- does anyone know if it's 100% whole wheat or if it's a mix of white/wheat?
I haven't been able to find any of the others.
I'll also mention brown rice sushi here; that's a bit more common, although I have yet to find any outstanding brown rice sushi. I know of Homma's in Palo Alto, Sushi O Sushi in Santa Clara and Wayo and Enoshima in San Francisco. As well as many grocery stores.
