Graduation Party - please help with menu planning!

jerseyjanice | May 11, 201708:29 AM     7

We are having a high school graduation party for our son. It will be on a Sunday from 3pm - 8pm. We expect most people will drop in and stay for an hour or two. Our close friends will stay longer. My son's friends will also wander in and out, as there are several other parties that day.

We have invited 100 people, between kids and adults. I have no idea how many to expect. RSVP date is 10 days prior to event.

There is a local shop in town that does a nice job with sandwich trays (they use pretzel buns, croissants and ciabatta rolls) These will be cut in half. They are willing to do two separate trays so I can put one out to start with and keep the other covered and fresh to put out a couple hours later. They also will do a fruit tray (the same way as above)

I'd like to supplement this with food I can make ahead of time. I really don't want to do anything on the grill - burgers, etc. Just don't want to worry about cooking during the party. I would like some hot food options. But I also want it to be somewhat easy to eat.

Other thoughts are:

Antipasto tray?

different "finger foods"? -- something with tooth picks or skewers?

My plan is to put the food out on my dining room table. Weather permitting, people will be outside. Should I also have some snacky items out there? If so, what?

I haven't done a large party in a long time. It doesn't need to be fancy, but I want it to be memorable.

Thanks for your help!
