Graduation Dinner in the East Bay!

Holland | May 12, 200501:52 AM

So here's the deal. I need some suggestions for a graduation dinner for a friend. She's graduating from UC Berkeley this Sunday afternoon and her parents are treating her and her friends (which is us obviously) out to dinner. So the prerequisites are this. It's preferred that the place is ethnic, but not overly ethnic where the menu items are really out of the ordinary. So Chinese (Mandarin or Cantonese, don't matter cuz a bunch of us speak either or), Thai, Korean, Japanese, etc would be nice. Basically any restaurant that isn't a common chain like Elephant Bar, Outback Steakhouse or something. American fare would be an okay suggestion as long as it's really good food.

The price range should be reasonable because it'd be rude if we suggested a place that was too expensive (nothing more than $15 a head I suppose). The parking situation at the preferred restaurant should be good because none of us feel like circling around finding parking. Location-wise, it would be preferred to be somewhere in the east bay. My friend's originally from So Cal and she's moving back down afterwards, so it would be great to have a memorable meal without emptying her parents' pockets in the process. Anyway, I'm open to suggestions and ideas even if they don't fit all the requirements. So I need the Chow Hounders to help me out. Thanks in advance! =)
