Had an absolutely wonderful evening at Grace last night, my first visit since right after they opened. Many of the same impressions still apply. Great, stylish urban setting. Excellent service. Among the finest in town, actually: knowing, caring, attentive. Started with a lovely spinach and mache salad with goat cheese for $10 and an outstanding pork belly with braised cabbage with 'forbidden rice' for $13. Finished with, among other things, a beautifully composed cheese plate of five cheeses that included Epois, Brillat-Savarin, a lavendar cheese, a dry goats' and one other; as well as toasted raisin bread, sliced pear and delicious frozen Champagne grapes for $15. We weren't doing a tasting, obviously, but the offer was made by Matt their sommelier to pour tastes which was nice including a surprising South African cab, Vouvray, White Burgundy, a lesser known Italian red, etc. Sorry, to be vague here. The menu is too ambitious but what worked, worked very well. And the overall package is very satisfying and well thought out, I think.
