I need to call on the food community for help in locating a hard-to-find product. Goya has a (small? new?) line of frozen concentrates of tropical fruit nectars. I bought the guava at an ethnic Hispanic store someplace along Belmont near the Kennedy. Finding these juices nowhere else, including a couple of Hispanic stores with big Goya displays that I often go to, I called Goya and they told me they are available in Chicago only at Tony's Finer Foods. I asked if I could order them through a Jewel store that stocks other Goya products; the lady said no because "Jewel isn't part of our corporate structure". This week I am going to make a safari to Tony's, but I would sure love to find this product more generally available. The Goya nectars are hard enough to find in the 46-oz cans, but it seems the frozen concentrates are even more rare. The nectars are delicious as fruit juice and make wonderful mixers for summer drinks (try the guava just once and you too will be searching for it). I can't believe there wouldn't be a wider market for them than three stores in all of Chicago. If anybody sees this product anyplace, do please post. Thanks.
