New Gourmet Market in Venice

Jurisdog | Apr 26, 2003 07:43 PM

"Market Gourmet", a new small specialty market just opened up in Venice.

It's on Abbot Kinney between Washington and Venice, at the intersection of Abbot Kinney and Washington Way.

It's a nice space, and even though they are just opening and haven't gotten everything up to speed yet (looks like they'll be having prepared food soon but not yet), they have a lot of interesting things.

I just took a quick look through the store. They have baking chocolates, coffee beans, teas, interesting flours, oils, a small cheese selection, cookies, snacks and condiments, rices and pastas and some gift items and kitchen gadgets. They also have fresh breads.

It's not cheap, but I would think if they have just thing you've been looking for, it's worth the price.

I picked up a rice mix, a bachelor loaf of bread and some Valrhona chocolate. Plus some peppermints just for fun.

I hope this doesn't sound like a planted message. I have no connection to them other than living within walking distance. They look like a nice addition to the neighborhood and I hope they do well.
