Hot Doug's and his duck fat fries are called out in the current issue of Gourmet magazine, which focuses on "restaurants we love."

In addition to the fries, the piece mentions his specialty sausages and opens with the lead: "Imagine David Mamet working as a fry cook at a hipster-run hot dog stand..."
