I went to Gorikee for lunch this afternoon with my parents.
For appetizers, we started with a mushroom potato chowder which was absolutely delicious-it wasn't too heavy and had alot of flavor and just the right amount of mushrooms and potatoes. My family then and I split an order of shrimp and crab potstickers which were DELICIOUS. Instead of the wonton skin folded into a half moon shape, they were folded into an egg roll shape which were chock full of crab and pieces of shrimp with a pesto type sauce drizzled ontop.
Next for our entrees, my mother and I had the sauteed seabass crusted with tortilla chips and a lobster stock reduction which was one of the specials of the day. The tortilla chips were an interesting way to encrust a piece of fish but it worked really well and gave it a nice lightly crunchy texture, which was a good counter to the richness of the lobster sauce. It came with a side of veggies, rice and salad. My dad had the "Wimpy" burger, which he loved (and my dad is extremely picky about burgers, since that is practically all he eats). It was a good size burger with veggies and cheese and mango salsa and some sort of sweet-ish sauce which gave it a wonderful sort of sweet/smoky flavor on the hamburger. It also had a large portion of yummy french fries with garlic on them.
For dessert, we finished with a slice of the mango yogurt cheesecake with a side of milky granita. I absolutely love the cheesecake and get it every single time I go to Gorikee. It is a light delicately tasting cheesecake resonant of mango-wonderful!
The service, as always, was impeccable with our beverage glasses refilled constantly before we even noticed they had to be refilled. It is always an excellent experience for me dining at Gorikee.
