ramsay goes to india to try and understand the genesis behind the british curry house. he gets put quickly straight: that's not even indian food in brit curry houses. and if he wants to understand indian food, he's asked to stay away from the touristy big name restaurants and to go to smaller places, especially homes.
spot on. but he still seems a bit surprised at the constant use of goat - i wish somebody would once and for all set it straight: indian eat goat, not lamb.
the first episode stars moti mahal in delhi, where butter chicken was first invented (or should i say discovered). no surprise: the kitchen is full of nepalis - just like the unsung geniuses in manhattan kitchens are mexicans.
