gorditas on roosevelt

scarey | Dec 28, 200602:17 PM     3

there is a relatively new cart set up on Roosevelt and 75th early in morning through evening. They sell tamales (are they the same people who used to have the shopping cart tamales on the western corner?) and gorditas. I think they may sell other stuff later in the day. But yesterday morning I stopped and had a gordita for breakfast. the masa was formed around a filling of crunchy bits of pork. Served with a medium-spicy green sauce and cotija cheese. It was pretty good. I am no gordita expert, but I really enjoyed it. I think i saw some being made with some kind of topping too, didn't quite see what it was.
I had a tamale too, chicken with green chile. "spicy" I wasn't overwhelmed by heat, though some of my co-workers thought they were pretty hot. I must have some kind of teflon tongue.
The tamale was fine.
