What gooey, chewy-tofu recipes do you know of involving dried chilies? (Somewhat kung pao-like)

So there was this vegetarian restaurant that closed, that had the best "house special" tofu.

The tofu was apparently dried and fried, chewy and gorgeous (soft only a little on the inside) due to the surrounding savory, thick red chilie-laden glaze (maybe marinated first). Might've had roasted peanuts too. Had some sweetening agent. The chilies were small red ones like Thai chilies, and were dried, and you either had to prepare for a lot of hot or eat your way around them.

Aside from kung pao, what other known recipes fit the dried-chilies description? (All the pics I've seen of tofu kung pao were much lighter and more watery, and the tofu looked like basic unfried, undried tofu.)
