I just had my first, and last, pizza at Lombardi's last night. Due to redevelopment they are closing this week. What great pizza. Oh the crust that comes from a coal-fired oven. I had no idea. No one told me. I am so bummed. They are not serving their apparently famous clam pizza this week. AFter tasting the crust: tangy, salty, chewy, just totally flavorful, I can imaging how wonderful that clam pizza must have been. They have no immediate plans to reopen in Philadelphia. They have their original store in SOHO. I hope they'll decide to relocate in the area.
