Found Good Wings in Portland

So I've been looking around for good wings for some time. I'm accustomed to and prefer the smaller sized wings as opposed to those jumbo ones, so that narrows things down.

Being from the midwest, the wings I used to get and grew to love were tender, hot and crispy...crispy whether they were sauced or not. I tried a well-known place just the other day and the skin was so soggy and the meat was cold at the bone. Yuk!

Anyway, I finally found excellent wings, currently on the menu at Downtown Lounge. Apparently they bake them off first, presumably to render off the fat, allowing that great, crispy texture to form. I ordered the sauce on the side (just to be safe) which was a spicy, tangy sauce, very "ala Norm". The blue cheese dressing was not the bottled stuff commonly found, it was clearly housemade and really excellent. Did I mention, these puppies were juicy and HOT and a certain measure of patience is required -- Just how it should be.

BTW, tried the Chicken Tibsi at Asmara the other day. It was really nice, with juicy tender chunks of chicken in an addictive sauce that was mild but with pepper flavor, well balanced -- its really hard to describe this food since the seasonings are unfamiliar to me. Great stuff, though! Has anyone tried any of the vegetarian entrees? I'm really curious about the Foul.
