Hi, I'm a casual wine "enthusiast," meaning I love drinking wine, but don't know all that much about it :) I saw a Chowhound post from a long time ago (2007) asking about the best wine classes in the Bay Area, but a lot of the information seems outdated: http://www.chowhound.com/post/abc-win...
It looks like the Bruce Cass Wine Lab is no longer a thing, for example, which is sad because it seemed like the best bet.
I've also been checking out the website for Grape Experience: http://www.grapeexperience.com/grape-... Has anyone out there taken one of their Beginner Wine Courses? Would you recommend it? (It's pricey...)
I'm wondering if any Chowhounders have additional thoughts or recs? I'm basically looking for something beyond a tasting – I'd love to know more about different wine-making regions, varietals, how to taste/sense different flavors, balance, etc. The ABCs, basically. But I don't have any interest in a career in wine.
Many thanks in advance to anyone who might reply.
