Where to get good tasting bakery treats?

soccermom13 | Jun 12, 201609:11 AM     22

I have to purchase bakery items for an early morning work open house. I would love to bake for this event, but there will be too many attendees. I need your suggestions for where to purchase good quality "breakfast-y" baked goods that are both tasty and affordable.

I tried an almond coffee cake from Lunds that was pretty mediocre. I have also tried Danish from Costco (okay, but not excellent). Costco sells a quick bread-type cinnamon bread ("Butter Cinnamon Sugar Loaves") with a heavy cinnamon sugar topping and what looks like a cinnamon swirl within the bread itself. I may try some of that.

I have to purchase these items next Sunday for the open house which is early the next day. I appreciate any and all suggestions you have.

I live near downtown Mpls so I would prefer not to have to drive to a distant suburb, but I could and would drive a distance if that would yield good tasting baked goods at a decent price.

Thanks in advance.
