good Z Sushi experience (Alhambra)

Thanks to Tokyoastrogirl and others who recommended Z Sushi a couple of weeks ago (and earlier.) I went last night with a friend and was very pleased. I failed to keep track of what we ate (and had forgotten my notes with specific dish recs), but it was mostly nigiri, including yellowtail, salmon, tuna, halibut and sea bass. All were good to excellent; the yellowtail was stunning.

Service was friendly and professional. And I know I shouldn't expect this, but part of what will make a new place special for me is if anything is offered that I hadn't ordered; in this case were were given a wonderful little spicy minced tuna concoction that was served in a "roll" of cucumber shaving (delicious), and a dessert of a perfect, sweet orange.

It was also cheaper than I had expected, perhaps 70% of what one might pay in a comparable West LA place, and it's head-and-shoulders above places like Ai in S.Pas. Z Sushi is definitely worth a try, particularly if it's not too long a drive; hounds might find that it hits a sweet spot of neighborly friendliness and high-quality fish at an attractive price.
