I've always had great success with the No Knead Challah recipe from Artisan Bread in 5 Minutes a Day (recipe available at www.thekitchn.com/thekitchn/baked-goo... ) and would like to make it for my parents while I'm staying with them. The problem is that my dad is allergic to honey and I don't know what to substitute for it. In other recipes that call for a couple of tablespoons I just use sugar, but I don't know about 1/2 c. Should I use a simple syrup? Corn syrup? Sugar water?
