This is my mom's favorite place, but it is also a 30 minute drive, so we get to enjoy it 3-4 times a year.
First off, my cocktail was fantastic, it was the fire and ice and it was such a wonderful summer type drink, with nice bite from the jalapeno.
The white asparagus soup was a winner. So sophistacated, so complex, yet so simple. And they pair it with cinnamon croutons--genious.
I had the steamed calliflower and it was very good.
Mom had the salmon, and it was perfectly cooked, very juicy.
Mel had the lamb ossobuco and it was very good.
My scallops were perfect. They were the small ones, so easy to prepare, but I can't complain. It was on a bed of very al dente pasta and worked out well. The vegetable that came with it had the taste and texture of tofu, so I did not care for it.
Since we were stuffed, the 3 of us shared the cheese plate with the remaining of our wine, bottle of 2001 Karl Lawrence Reserve Morisolli Vineyard. While the wine was a bit bretty for me, it paired beautifully with the cheeses.
