Maybe a chowhounder can tell me something about Christos in the Union Depot, whether it's any good. And what about Da Vinci's? Is it still around and is it any good? What about other places in Lowertown?
Speaking of Lowertown, Tanpopo has relocated to Prince St., the same block as the Black Dog Cafe, just southeast of the farmers' market. It's in a large studio space, unlike the cramped quarters they had at their old location near the cathedral. The food hasn't changed; it still remains excellent and the portions are sensible, not huge. I started with california rolls, then moved on to the daily special which was walleye tempura with miso soup, sticky rice, pickles and a small salad. The walleye was very tender. For dessert I had their sesame pudding, but it was more like a custard in terms of shape and texture. It had a roasty caramel taste.
