I'll be visiting Nashville for a long weekend next month, and I'll need a couple of dinner ideas. Specifically, I'd like to go "local" and try a Southern or Meat and Three place. This won't be a "fine dining" trip, so my only requirements are that it be good, inexpensive, and be a sit-down place, rather than a take-out shack.
But, I've noticed that most of these places I see listed close at 3pm or so? Is Meat and Three just a lunch thing in Nashville?
Also, I've looked at a few places which seem likely candidates, they are open at least until 8pm or so, and wanted Chowhound opinions:
For each place, I've read reviews that range from glowing to horrid. It's difficult to get a "fix" on whether they are good, or living on their reputations.
Any other suggestions along the same lines as these places, would be great. I'll have a car and I'm staying out near Opryland, so places downtown or in the Opryland area would be great.
