Good place to watch Sox while eating dinner

Childerelda | May 17, 2005 08:48 PM

For a bunch of reasons, I've decided to branch out from my usual "watching the red sox while eating dinner and relaxing after a long day at work" haunt, and would appreciate suggestions.

Some details to help -

- I work in Newton, live in Chelsea so somewhere in between works OK. Prefer closer to home if possible. I'm still new to Chelsea (moved from Davis Sq ~2 years ago) so if you know of places here I'd love to hear about them.
- I'm open to dive-ish bars (love 'em really!), but am usually a woman dining alone so anywhere that trends toward meat market or drunken slobber is out.
- Friendly people knowledgeable about baseball would be preferred, but friendly people of any stripe always beat out the non-friendly kind
- And not at all least, I'm hoping for good food that has some variety in the menu to get me through the season, if possible

That might be bit of a long wish list - generally, a good crowd of decent people and good food with a baseball game on the wall is all I'm looking for.

Thanks in advance.
