So I was walking down the Bowery the other night when I saw a sign in the window of Marion's (between Great Jones Street and East 4th) announcing that Ingrid Roetelle is now serving fondue on Sunday evenings.
You might remember her namesake restaurant, Roetelle AG on East 7th Street, which closed last year. I stopped by Marion's tonight and while the menu was not as vast as at Roetelle AG, there was still a decent selection: basic cheese fondue, cheese fondue with tomatoes, cheese fondue with herbs, and chocolate fondue.
I ordered the cheese fondue with tomatoes and it was every bit as delicious as I remember. Between this and "Six Feet Under," I know how I'll be spending my Sunday evenings from now on. (Now if only they'd bring back the cheese fondue with beer....)
