There is a taco bar next to the Washingtonian Chevron on Fields Road (between Sam Eig Hwy and Rio) that is a little gem. Two lovely Mexican women cranking out some amazing pozole (pork and hominy stew seasoned with chiles and limes), green and red tamales, monster burritos and tacos (including barbacoa) and a bunch of other things. I'm addicted to the savory pozole. At six bucks for a quart, it beats the hell out of those evermore insipid pho joints. You can dress everything from the condiment bar, which features four varieties of home-made salsa, fresh lime, jalapenos and cilantro, onions and tomatoes and other stuff. Highly recommended.
