Another very good lunch at Kitti's Place (Sausalito)

Malcolm Ruthven | Dec 6, 201003:26 PM

I had lunch at Kitty's Place for the first time in several months and it was just great. I had the Maing Khum ($11), described on their website as "Coconut tarts shells filled w/ chicken, shrimp, peanuts, shallots, ginger, coconut flakes and Tamarind sauce; served w/ spicy citrus-mango salad". I don't remember any Coconut tarts shells; the fillings were assembled onto three individual large leaves of lettuce. The flavors sparkled as I ate each of the wrapped-in-lettuce assemblages. The flavors of the accompanying salad sparkled even more. Salad in an Asian restaurant can often be forgettable; this was anything but that.
