I have read some past reviews on eat. on Sunset....perhaps the Patina Group was paying attention as well because I had a very nice lunch there yesterday. I was greeted by a very pleasant hostess, who let me decide where I wanted to eat (by the fireplace-YAY!)
I was immediately greeted by my waiter, who was attentive thoroughout the meal (surprising, as I was dining ALONE). He recommended the sweet potato bisque, which was awesome with little ricotta fingerlings. Very hot and smooth. I also had the chopped cobb, which may have not been unique but was fresh and high-quality. The panna cotta for dessert was wonderful- very creamy, just the right amount of vanilla....NICE. The music and temperature were appropriate, the atmosphere slightly mod but not overwhelmingly so.
Looking around, the entire waitstaff appeared friendly and helpful. One waiter could be seen graciously offering to exchange appetizers when a guest made an ordering error. The bussers were very professional and polite.
In light of less-than-stellar dinner reviews...maybe this is a place to hit at noon???
