As good as Lotus of Siam/Sripraphai? (moved from Southwest Board)

Not yet.

Last trip to LA in early summer, I concentrated on Lebanese/Armenian. The usual suspects: bisturma and falafel, tabouleh made special by your Central Valley pristine parsley and simple well executed lamb chops. Speaking of which, it downright pained me to drive past a half dozen hopping dim-sum places on my Sunday midday Yahoo directed mission from the airport out to Alahambra.

But my LA trips seem to be becoming more frequent. Next up on my Chow radar had been sushi at Shibucho(sp?)-- but without a local guide, have been concerned about post-workday travel logistics.

I've read some stuff here on the LA Board about Thai Town, but haven't yet even gone so far as to locate the most current posts, or where Thai Town is on the map in relation to Beverly Hills/Westwood--where my hotels are usually located.

So on the order of Sripraphai and Lotus Of Siam, what LA Thai suggestions would you offer?
