I have just been to "The Pasta Tree" on Farwell in Milwaukee. Although the place had a few minor kinks, I think I can give it a good reccomendation, particularly for dates. It is a small, intimate restaurant, with a nice ambience and flattering lighting, if a little loud. The menu is mostly or maybe all pasta- freshly made- with different sauce options. Entrees include an above average salad, consisting of mesclun mixed with hardier lettuces such as frisse, romaine, & radicchio. The pasta was al dente and not oversauced, which can be an issue around here. For 2 people with a bottle of wine and tip we paid around $55 (the wine list is good but nondescriptive- they don't even list the vintages- but if you know a little about wine you'll find something good). Also, the restaurant was very busy and has been in business for 20 yrs, so I'd guess our good experience was typical.
