I'm a Toronto Chowhound who's going to be in Chicago next weekend. During the day, my time will be occupied with the Intonation Music Festival in Union Park. I have not been to Chicago in about ten years, and am really looking forward to getting some wandering/eating time before and after the show. Since breakfasts and late night munching will be obligatory, I'm wondering about places within walking or brief cabbing distance that can offer delicious, cheap, and indeed regional, fare. I will be with a group of 5 people who are all adventurous eaters, but includes a couple vegetarians...so places with a veg-option would be best...but don't let that stop you from recommending delicious meat!
We are all staying at on South Michigan, at Congress, so rec's for that area would be appreciated as well. Thanks for any help you can provide
