GOOD JAPANESE-Oasis (long)

Mike Scolnic | Jun 13, 2003 02:07 PM

I recently discovered a japanese restaraunt that I had never been to before while walking to Gengi another japanese restaraunt a block away. It was called Oasis an all you can eata sushi buffet. We got there at noon about an hour after opening time and it was relativly empty. But by one oclock it was quite full. It was $12.95 a person for lunch which I thought was relativly cheap considering the amount of food I ate. There was about 15 or 20 different kinds of sushi including some that was deep fried which I found to be quite good. The deep fried tuna especially was something new to me and something very delicious. They also had about four kinds of salads none of which I ate, and very good fruit which was really sweet. The regular sushi was really good especially one giant piece that I had. It had crab, pineapple, avacodo, carrot, and tuna all in one huge piece. The sushi overall was quite good, but not as excellent as Morimoto. They had other food too including regular chinese like general tso's chicken and beef and broccli both of which were fair. They had an exorbanant amount of seafood like crab legs and clams which were also just average. Oasis was very good and definately worth the trip if you like Japanese food. It's located at 1709 Walnut Street and it's phone number is 215 751 0888.
