here's my deal: i'm vegan and live uptown. there are tons of places that i regularly go to eat and have great meals...so i'm not exactly asking, "where to eat vegetarian in new orleans?" my in-laws are visiting from out of town next weekend, and we HAVE to find a place that accommodates everyone. my mother-in-law DEMANDS great service and MUST eat meat. my father-in-law is easy to please, my partner will be happy with whatever i order. we plan on eating sushi at least one night as everone loves this. where to go the others? we were thinking about a good Italian place that has a pizza oven (they can get crawfish while i'm at work). does anyone have input about Cavallino on S. Carrollton? is it just a college hangout or do they have good food? most ethnic food like indian, middle eastern, vietnamese, etc are against the mother-in-law's code of eating...and i refuse to have a plate of steamed "veggies" or a salad.
