Good Italian - Oliva - Sherman Oaks

Hugh Lipton | Mar 28, 200407:14 PM

Virtually at the corner of Moorpark and Van Nuys Blvd. is an outstanding Italian restaurant called Oliva. The food is very good to excellent with prices that will not bankrupt you. The staff is eager to please, have a full bar, a good wine list and permit corkage. Did a wine tasting there on Friday evening. They provided light refreshment and the gang brought 11 wines for tasting. The 2000 BV Private Reserve was the star of the evening followed closely by a newcomer called Neal Winery ($45 for a top notch cabernet if you can find it - with long term potential). Well worth a try if you live in or are going to be in the Valley.
