The subject of "coffee" always sparks a response. Like the Holy Grail, I, forever, seek a better cup of coffee. The "better cup" comprising the beans themselves, storage, preparation, etc. I think of myself as a coffee nut but I buy my beans at Porto Rico Coffee on Bleeker Street )which immediately marks me down with some), store them on the freezer (also a topic of debate), grind them in a small (non-burr) grinder -still another mark-down in the eyes of some, and use a Mellitta filter and a tea-pot pour through method -not to everyone's taste. Out of curiousity, what other "systems" work for others in producing that ultimate cup of coffee...which, by the way, I drink in an earthenware mug.
