Good Gumbo in Buff. of all Places

Jambalaya | May 25, 2006 01:23 PM

I just saw a post on the midwest board that reminded me to post my experience over Mother's Day weekend. I had ocassion to stop into Kentucky Gregs. They have some mighty fine BBQ by the way. This place satisfies my criteria of being able to smell the pit from the parking lot.

They offer a chicken and sausage gumbo that will just knock your socks off. Through the years I've had the pleasure to work on the Gulf Coast and know the real deal when I taste it and this is it. In fact, I would even rate it better than some of the gumbos I've had down there. The roux taste is very nice and gives the gumbo a great thick consistency. This guy really knows gumbo. If you're in the area I highly suggest you stop in to try a bowl, but save room for the Q as well.

For those of you not familiar with the place you can probably Google it to find the website, but I believe its on George Urban, east of the intersection with Dick Rd. To further locate it, the place is only about a 5 or 10 minute drive from the airport.
