We had a very nice dinner last night at Good Evening Thursday, Chris Kronner's makeshift restaurant at Bruno's. We were greeted warmly by the host downstairs who introduced himself by name and led us up to the Pussycat Lounge which was set up for dinner service. The vibe was very 50's/60's "Mad Men" meets "Rat Pack", from the art on the walls to the menu itself. Not an extensive menu but it was heavy on the meat, which we liked.
We honed in on the prime rib for 2 ($46) which came with creamed spinach and roasted, smashed potatoes with bacon. The meat was cooked sous-vide, my first time having prime rib prepared that way, and delicious! We also split the cesar salad ($12) topped with fried smelt which added a nice touch to the cesar. For dessert we split a berry pie ($10) which was an actual whole mini pie instead of a slice and the perfect size for two people.
Service was great, from the host to our waiter we were treated as though we were having dinner at a friend's house. I brought a bottle of Testarossa Pinot Noir with us which went great with the prime rib and our waiter seemed genuinely touched when I offered him a glass. Like I said, I felt like we were dining with friends so it was my pleasure! I only wish we had another bottle so we could have shared with the entire house.
I believe there are only two weeks left and would highly recommend you check out Good Evening Thursday before they're gone for good.
