Good/Eatery/Good enough to Eat/Cafeteria?

Looking for some good old fashioned American food/comfort food. I have heard these places while doing some research on the board and on other sites. Any recommendations for any of these? Which is the best? Can you guys please give me some more recommendations for great comfort type food. I tried starting another thread about this but didn't really get much.

Things I am looking for include great burgers, southern style dishes like fried chicken, short ribs, mac and cheese just great home cooked type All-American food but preferably with a twist. I have looked at some of the menu items on these restaurants websites and they look somewhat interesting. I know Cafeteria is known for their mac and cheese. I saw Good enough to eat on the Food network with Bobby Flay once and it looked really good. Eatery seems like a pretty cool American Nouveau kinda place.

I have been to Clinton Street Baking for their pancakes and liked it but want to try something different. But I like their style of food.

Others I have heard of include Blue Ribbon (seems kinda pricery) and Westville.

All recs are welcome- I am open to trying anything!
