Good copycat recipes for famous dishes

I figured "famous" and "recipe" and "dishes" have been defined enough there so we don't have to rehash it again.;-) Mentioned in the thread is the Jordan Marsh blueberry muffin copycat recipe. Have you found a copycat recipe that is close to the original? Have you tried some that fail miserably (so we can avoid them)? Have you made tweaks to them that made them better? Bonus points for Carvel crunchies.

I'll start w/ the Levain chocolate chip cookie:

I found them floury so I cut the AP flour to 2 1/4 cup and added about 1/2 cup of cake flour. They are a taller cookie, chewy. Not Levain but for a better cookie, I add Heath bits. I've heard that levain doesn't add vanilla but that's a necessary component for me in ccc.

For comfort foods, I like Cracker Barrel's chicken and dumplings:
