Today, on the advice of some family members, we went to a place called The Kona Crisp in Rolling Hills. It's a Hawaiian themed restaurant. Again, being advised, we ordered the "Best Burger on the Beach" with the crisp sweet buttermilk onion strings topping and a side of their "Sweet Potato Kettle Fries." Both were delicious. The fries were hot and crisp with a dusting of cinnamon/sugar. I know, I know, this sounds strange but they were truly delicious. The burger was presented on what appeared to be a thick homemade bun that didn't fall apart like most do. The meat patty was thick and juicy. They offered a condiment table that included a spicy tomato ketchup, a ranch dressing and a jalapeno ranch dressing for the regular fries which were also very good. I will definitely make the trek from Monterey Park back to the South Bay very soon to try their specialty, the pulled pork sandwich. It will be worth it I'm sure.
