Good Bouillabaisse at Balthazar

After several New Americans including supersonic culinary flight at Blue Hill we felt a need to go back to basics.

We had a great bouillabaisse yesterday at Balthazar, served in a small flame Le Creuset (or similar) Bouillabaisse pot with a lid. Enough portion for two but I could easily finish two pots.

We also had great sardines, escargot, stake tartar and ravioli with spinach & ricotta cheese.

In the mood for back-to-basics we skipped, not as usual, the plateau de fruit de mer.

The bread was good as usual.

Good French bistro food...and good people watching – part of the deal at Balthazar.
