Stopped for lunch today at Holy Smokes BBQ in West Hatfield, MA. Had a sandwich with meat from one of their whole cooked pigs. Man! That was some tender succulent pork! Had the chef's beans with it. Loved the herby flavor and lack of sugar. Chatted with the owner Lou, a nice guy and he seemed very knowledgable about BBQ too. He let me try a sample of his Carolina-style pulled pork. Nice and tangy. Wound up taking some home for my wife to try. It's good to find a BBQ place in New England where they know how to slow-cook meats and don't douse everything with sweet glop! I'm definitely going back there to try the beef ribs!
