I am willing to travel for REALLY good bacalao to any borough or NJ, as long as its accessible by subway/PATH. I have found a lot of passable bacalao dishes, but really am craving the GOOD stuff. I find the Portuguese version superior to the Dominican one so far, but open to any cuisine with spice and flair (eg Brasil, Azorean, Cuban or others).
My all time favorite was from a Portuguese restaurant in Montreal: Juicy, complex spices in the broth, and no detectable bones.
Anyone who knows and loves bacalao, please help me out.
