Very good Ashland Italian restaurant

Jan | Oct 3, 200501:24 PM

We recently had a great meal at Pasta Piatti, no connection to the California chain. This one is on the main drag, on the right heading south in downtown Ashland. With all the parking problems in Ashland, this one is a real find in that respect, too. It has its own lot.

We had the Olma's Eggplant Parmigiana and Capellini Pomodoro, the latter with grilled shrimp. Both were excellent, the sauces perfectly seasoned and just the right amount. Wonderful Italian bread came with the meal. For dessert, we split a serving of tiramisu, one of the best we've had. Service was friendly and prompt.

In nearby Medford, we had a good meal at McGrath's Fish House. This place is super popular so plan a wait if it's on a weekend night. Best part about this restaurant is the fresh fish list every day. It includes the location of where caught too. Grilled trout with prawns and cioppino were our selections.
